Great State has been in business in Wilkes County since 1979, initially specializing in the sale of farm, mountain, timberland, and residential properties. The auction division was added in 1984 as a companion venture, but became a main stream part of the overall business in 1991. Owner/Operator W. Randall Woodruff has over 40 years of experience in the field of real estate sales and over 25 years experience in Personal Property and Estate Auctions. Our staff of professionals offer a combined experience of more than 150 Years in the Auction Profession!!

The unique auction methods developed and employed by our professional staff have proven highly successful over the last several years for our clients. Our centrally located office and auction gallery, the former Wilkesboro Food Mart, located at 104 East Main Street, Wilkesboro offers convenience, accessibility and easy parking to all whom seek our services. Our New "Old Town Auction Gallery "has been completely remodeled into a modern top of the line facility that will seat in excess of 300 auction attendees comfortably. Our new Gallery is 100% handicap friendly, offers great concessions, has excellent lighting, is pleasantly climate controlled and affords spacious surroundings. A facility we are truly proud to promote to the general public.

Our modern computer system can produce for any client a detailed inventory of all merchandise, who purchased it and how much each item sold for. Computerized settlement statements make the accounting process easier for our clients, their attorneys, clerks of court, bankruptcy officials, accountants and, yes, even the tax man!

Our computerized buyers' email list contains the names of several thousand faithful auction attendees whom regularly frequent our sales. By computer categorization we can target several hundred potential buyers of any particular type of offering and mail, or e-mail them brochures advertising a sale they may wish to attend. Our advertising abilities using newspapers, periodicals, signage, electronic media (website, facebook, twitter and e-mail) and our color flyer distributions are Second to None.
